Bug#232875: lintian: broken-tar check broken

Package: lintian
Version: 1.22.10
Severity: normal

The newly introduced broken-tar check seems to have some problems...:

When running lintian on some of my packages, it starts to output
contents of (random?) files of that package. You can easily reproduce it
with that package for instance:
http://people.debian.org/~ley/ogo/opengroupware.org-webui-common_1.0.0cvs20040103-1_i386.deb

Architecture: i386 (i686)

Locale: LANG=de_DE@euro, LC_CTYPE=de_DE@euro
