Hi,
I'm currently getting the following lintian errors from the wu-ftpd
package (this is from the version I have waiting to upload):
W: wu-ftpd: mknod-in-maintainer-script postinst:119
The mknod in postinst is not touching /dev, but is dealing with the dev
directory in the anonymous ftp root - ~ftp/dev.
W: wu-ftpd: debconf-is-not-a-registry ./usr/sbin/addftpuser
This is a script called by the postinst script to create the anonymous
FTP hierarchy based on the user's responses to the debconf questions. I
think this comes under the "Other exceptions" bit mentioned in the
warning info.
E: wu-ftpd: postrm-contains-additional-updaterc.d-calls /etc/init.d/wu-ftpd
W: wu-ftpd: script-in-etc-init.d-not-registered-via-update-rc.d /etc/init.d/wu-ftpd
These two come from the fact that the lintian check doesn't recognise
the following line from the (perl) postinst:
system("update-rc.d wu-ftpd defaults 50 >/dev/null")
Based on the above, am I safe to provide an overrides file for the
above?
