I don't think I would be able to write *any* program in the *same* way
it was written by its author(s)...   ;-)

There are many many reasons, IMHO.

It is indeed the author's thought that is goes in: something that is
quite unique, I would say... 


In summary, I think you are oversimplifying the art of programming.
