Nope, I don't even have the above in my local.conf (not even to
uncomment).  The only difference between the two screenshots was that
one was using Debian's freetype package and the other the same source
but without the patch I suggested removing.

(Switched with an LD_PRELOAD, so using the same config files).

Have you ever, ever felt like this?
Had strange things happen?  Are you going round the twist?
