I understand that you asked for help providing a reason for a license
change.  But d-l isn't the best place to go for that help in this case;
the FSF is.  They have people who answer questions about GPL
compatibility, and I'm sure they can explain their reasoning much more
authoritatively than we can.  They're the experts on GPL compatibility,
not us.  If you send mail to licensing@gnu.org and politely explain the
situation I'm sure they'd be willing to help you.
