license for patch?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hi all legal gurus,
I need a small help to sort out a license problem.
I filed a bug about djbdns-installer (contrib) in order to get the ipv6
patch distributed within debian and applied at compilation time to produce
djbdns+ipv6 (non-free due to djbdns license).
Adam was wondering if the patch requires a specific license in order to be
Actually the author of the patch did not put any license on it and he
belives that he cannot due to german laws. He is cooperating with us 100%
in order to make the distribution of the patch possible.
He also thinks that he cannot release the patch under GPL license that
might conflict with the djbdns one, but possibly a BSD one will be ok.
Can anyone kindly help me to sort out this issue???
Does the patch really need a license? and i case which one will fit
Thanks a lot and best regards
