I agree with Marcus.  If an author could forbid any derived works of his
chess program from being entered into a chess competition and still be
Debian free he could also forbid derived works of his editor from being
used to write fiction.

Is Dr. Hyatt perhaps just a little worried that someone will improve his
program and beat him with it?
