No. Please don't ask UW for a permission for Debian to distribute Pine.
I'm not willing to accept a permission "for Debian". We will not help
to make pine free software if we distribute it by accepting such special
permission from them.

If you want to invest some of your time on this, please convince them to
actually *change* the license so that everybody benefits of the change.
[ I already tried it with no success, so I'm not going to try it again ].
