Hi Dwijesh,
I liked to answer you earlier, but did not have time unfortunately.
About the sound problem: I also experienced sound problems with ALSA some time ago. For me they were solved after installing pulseaudio.
For the shutdown problem I don't have an idea at the moment. Which GUI are you using?
Best regards,
Andreas

Hello again friends..
I want to inform you that the sound problem has been solved by
installing pavucontrol.
On pavucontrol i was able to select the appropriate sound card.
However i still have the shutdown problem..even when i press the power
button, the system shutdown for a few seconds and then restarts by
itself.
Beside the shutdown issue, everything is working fine...long live
Debian
Please help me to solve me to that issue...Thank you
With Regards,
Dwijesh

kernel..when I click on Shutdown, my laptop restarts instead of

After restart you can login on tty1 (or ttyn) after a <Ctrl-Alt-F1>
Login as root and do:
# poweroff
If your laptop restarts after this poweroff by root then you have
to solve a nasty problem. Maybe a SMBus driver is missing or it
should be replaced. What happens when you keep the power button
pressed when your laptop tries to restart?
You can find some SMBus driver info by running:
$ lspci -k | less
