I have been able to install Debian on the laptop successfully...however I got some issues after installation: - No Sound - Can't control screen brightness - No Wifi..i have already followed the steps on ( https://wiki.debian.org/WiFi) and tried several drivers but it still does not detect any wifi connection.

I would suggest debian jessie for best hardware support, especially for a recent notebook. However, take care that many wifi drivers are inside non-free repositories. try with dmesg and lspci to understand the exact chipset/driver you need, than verify with modprobe if the right module has been loaded.
kernel from wheezy-backports helped me much with Dell 3540 - kernel
- video driver - wi-fi driver ... and the firmware from non-free repository. I usually don't use testing/unstable on my HW. -- Matus UHLAR - fantomas, uhlar@fantomas.sk ; http://www.fantomas.sk/ Warning: I wish NOT to receive e-mail advertising to this address.
