Re: Xwindows doesn't start on new install



I tried the > apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-all command, but xwindows still doesn't start.

You're missing xorg's input devices - without the keyboard, no
console, no screens found -
apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-all

will do the trick, but it's a little overkill.  You can weed the
drivers later to what you really need, after you get the gui in hand -
it's easier that way.  Sometimes this happens as the system meta
packages are being updated upstream, no problem, a little patience is
warranted as the guys are banging the lid down on Etch at the moment.
