Hello.

In /etc/X11/xorg.conf should be something like this :

Subsection "Display"
       Depth       24
       #Modes "1440x900" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
       Modes "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
       #Modes "1600x1200"
   EndSubsection

Just simply add your resolution.
