Hi,
I have a Acer Aspire 1414WLCi with Debian Unstable, and I'm using
the program kpowersave to monitor the battery, etc.
The problem is that the suspend-to-ram doesn't work(The suspend-to-disk works).
To activate the suspend-to-ram when I press FN+F4, I edited the file
/etc/powersave/events and changed the line:
POWERSAVE_EVENT_BUTTON_SLEEP="suspend_to_disk"
to
POWERSAVE_EVENT_BUTTON_SLEEP="suspend_to_ram"
With this when I press FN+F4 the laptop should enter in suspend(to ram) mode.
But the only thing with happens is that the screensaver is activated.
Looking the line
POWERSAVE_EVENT_GLOBAL_SUSPEND2RAM="prepare_suspend_to_ram
screen_saver do_suspend_to_ram"
of the same file, I noted that the screensaver should start, but after
this the laptop should enter in suspend mode. What not happens.
Hi Max,
have you set POWERSAVED_DISABLE_USER_SUSPEND2RAM="no" in
/etc/powersave/sleep? STR is disabled by default as it is still unsafe
for most machines.
Merry Christmas,
Michael
