Hey Patrice,Just to let you know you have to install Windows first and then Linux. I am not exactly why this is but I am sure if you do a google search on dual boot systems you will find out why. Its really easy to do, I have done it several times. What you have to do is split your partitions in windows before you go to Linux and then when you get to Linux then you can split up the Linux drive the way you want _/*IT*/_. Please email the list also if you have any more questions as you usually get a better response from them as opposed to me. I am not an expert on Linux but after installing it about 20 times on my systems I feel I am an expert in install.
Hope this helps a little. Brandon Richards Patrice Copin wrote:
hello, I installed a new version of ubuntu and was quite happy for 1) the debian system itself 2) having done this by myself. Then, to avoid certain problems and to have the possibility "just in case", I installed a version of Windows XP. And now, I haven't got the opportunity to start ubuntu. What did I do wrong? here what a did, about: - 3 partitions: ext3, swap (small), fat32. - ubuntu on ext3 mount on /, and windows on fat32 mount on /windows/ - to the question shall it install that program that permits to choose which os, I said yes. thank you for answering best regards patrice copin
