acpi is enabled and I am running acpid, but I don't think
this is the real problem and solution.
The BogoMIPS value is calculated once at startup and that
is when things go wrong. How could any user space daemon fix
that?
Would you know any more specific information?

Sorry, should have been more clear. The processor changes
speed on its own. Try disabling that. That may be why the BogoMIPS
value changes.
