Colored anti-aliasing. How do I stop it?

When I've got anti-aliasing turned on for my laptop, even monochrome text (like konsole.... black text with white background) will have *colored* anti-aliasing. This ends up making my LCD display look like a CRT with mis-aligned RGB.... with slight colored "shadows", etc.

I've tried playing with some of the anti-aliasing settings in the KDE control center, but I don't seem to get any results.

Does anybody have a solution for this that prevents coloer anti-aliasing on monochrome text?
