sound problem, i810 clocking/speed too low



I looked at the amixer controls (I also have an i8x0 sound driver)
and do not see anything.

modinfo snd_intel8x0

reveals the following :

parm:           ac97_clock:AC'97 codec clock (0 = auto-detect).

Strange that autodetect does not seem to work for you.
