modprobe snd-cs4236 port=0x530 cport=0x210 irq=5 dma1=1 dma2=0 isapnp=0
Apart from trying to also specify the irq, I'm afraid I'm out of ideas
here. You could try some more desperate measures, such as another
distribution. Live-CDs could be useful for this.
Sorry to disappoint you; troubleshooting from a distance is always very
hard...
