No, mine does not have a version -- but I do remember seeing somewhere
online that the newer cards are Atheros based cards and would thus use
Madwifi instead of Prism54.  Oh, maybe that's only the WG511T cards.

Mine came bundled with a WG302 Access Point.

Wild guess, but maybe it's uploading the wrong firmware?

Here's a bit of my output, if it helps at all.  I enabled debugging on
the hotplug scripts so there's a bit more output than normal. I was in
the process of trying to understand how hotplug works - curious how it
compares to and works with the pcmcia_cs scripts I've got setup.
