I can vouch for flavio's packages - they run sweet. The only thing is that if the packages get upgraded, you'll have to recompile to get it all working again. Simply lock the version you have on the machine, and upgrade when you want to. Don't let yourself get surprised during a big dist-upgrade (gnome 2.8's coming!). And there won't be any further problems with apt. Dave
