SMC2602W help please...

Hello.
I have a SMC2602W wireless PCI card that I can't seem to get working in
debian linux...(this is not for a laptop, but I am a lurker on this list,
and I figured this would be a good place to try).

Useful information:

uname -r
2.4.23-xfs

lspci
00:0c.0 RF controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] 79c978 [HomePNA]

I tried the linux drivers from ADMtek ADM8211 Linux driver 1.03.tar.gz
and ADM8211_src_105.tar.gz :
http://www.admtek.com.tw/index/index/download.htm
As you can see below, I can't seem to get the SMC2602W card working...

insmod 8211.o
Warning: loading 8211.o will taint the kernel: non-GPL license -
Proprietary See http://www.tux.org/lkml/#export-tainted for information
about tainted modules
8211.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg

Am I attempting the to use the wrong modules for this wireless card? I
have also attempted to use the orinoco_plx and orinoco_pci with no
success...

modprobe orinoco_plx
/lib/modules/2.4.23-xfs/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/orinoco_plx.o:
init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.23-xfs/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/orinoco_plx.o:
insmod /lib/modules/2.4.23-xfs/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/orinoco_plx.o
failed
/lib/modules/2.4.23-xfs/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/orinoco_plx.o:
insmod orinoco_plx failed

modprobe orinoco_pci gives the same error as orinoco_plx.

This is listed in the pcitable for ethernet cards, so it seems my wireless
card is using the same type of chipset???

Any help would be wonderful.... I've read the other threads, and
attempted many different things, but I am lost at this point....

Thanks.
