usb-storage again ...

Hello everybody !

Since I migrated from 2.4.23 to 2.6.x (x=7 atm), I have only trouble using both my usb-stick and my camera which behaves like an usb-stick. Both run very well under 2.4.23 and MS Windows. Btw, I am using debian unstable, daily updated.

Well, final status is, that both are recognized and initialized as sda, sda1:

e.g.:

----
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: *** thread sleeping.
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: Vendor: MATSHITA Model: DMC-LC20 Rev: Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: queuecommand called
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: *** thread awakened.
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: Command TEST_UNIT_READY (6 bytes)
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: 00 00 00 00 00 00
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: Bulk Command S 0x43425355 T 0x3b L 0 F 0 Trg 0 LUN 0 CL 6 Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: usb_stor_bulk_transfer_buf: xfer 31 bytes
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: Status code 0; transferred 31/31
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: -- transfer complete
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: Bulk command transfer result=0
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: Attempting to get CSW...
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: usb_stor_bulk_transfer_buf: xfer 13 bytes
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: Status code 0; transferred 13/13
Jul 17 15:15:41 localhost kernel: usb-storage: -- transfer complete
----

And now the problems begin:

When I try to mount the camera, it says "no medium found". If I mount the usb stick it is even more strange:

----
Jul 17 15:46:10 localhost kernel: Buffer I/O error on device sda1, logical block 0
Jul 17 15:46:10 localhost kernel: Buffer I/O error on device sda1, logical block 1
Jul 17 15:46:10 localhost kernel: Buffer I/O error on device sda1, logical block 2
[...]
----

And finally fails.
Both errors are always the same, with or without usbfs running.
sg_map shows the sg devices mapped to the correct devices, and it seems to be that it is a problem related to usb-storage.

Any hints whats going wrong ?

Regards,
Sebastian
