That is your X server...

I have this one:

root     25608  0.0  0.3  3768 1932 ?        S    Mar01   0:00 -:4

because I have this in my /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers:

:4 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X :4 vt11 -dpi 100

I don't know how is done in kdm, but it has to be similar.
