PCMCIA problems, 2.6.1

Debian Unstable
Kernel 2.6.1, as downloaded from kernel.org
PCMCIA support enabled and compiled as modules.

Laptop is a NEC Versa M300

Installing I had to disable the pcmcia-cs package otherwise it crashed.
After installing, and upgrading to unstable, I reinstalled pcmcia-cs.
Boots without crashing.

When I insert a pcmcia card the machine locks up. If I do a tail -f on
messages before inserting, it appears to be a General Protection Fault
occuring, but when I reboot, nothing is in the logs.
