Re: iwconfig & orinoco problem

Ben,

Not sure if this is any help, but I get a similar iwconfig error message. I cannot set my ESSID via iwconfig either. Instead, I use the Linux-WLAN modules. ftp://ftp.linux-wlan.org/pub/linux-wlan-ng/

I use linux-wlan-ng-0.1.16-pre9.tar.gz as 0.2.0 seemed to be broken with my setup. For me atleast, this will work fine to setup the card. I still use iwconfig for things such as checking link strength, but setting things doesn't seem to work.

Note, I run a LINKSYS WPC11 card, so this may or may not even help, but its worth a try if you have not explored this option.

Good luck,

-Mark
