I know this is drastic but i'm crazy :p so try downloading your kernels
sources then compiling them with "Video mode selection support" but it
seems like you allready have it so dont use hex and look around on the web
for a code for your resolution for me I add vga=788 to my lilo.conf on my
800x600 Savage IX/MX laptop and it works great some may critisize me for
this seeing as theres not really a difference between hex and a useing a
decimal but might aswell try it right? Peace.
