If you run /usr/bin/bluepin from the command line does python complain
about missing some gtk modules?
On both my Debian Sid boxes I had to install python-gtk1.2 before
bluepin would run (if it runs OK from the command line it should just
print 'ERR').

I think that in order to generate a valid link key you need to enter the
same pin on both ends; one the phone is paired, there is no further need
to enter the pin.
You might find it useful to look at the output of syslog whilst trying
to connect, this might give some hints as to the problem.

I think you also need to use something like:
rfcomm connect /dev/bluetooth/rfcomm0 00:01:E3:26:64:3D 1
before you can send data to the phone (if you don't run devfs the device
names may be different).

I can dial out from through my S55 via a belkin usb bluetooth adaptor,
in much the manner you describe, so it is possible :).

Hope some of this helps,

Joe
