I'm not sure, But this may come from the pcmcia-card-controler. I had
some problems installing woody on a DELL INSPIRON. I changed the
/etc/pcmcia/config.opts:

I changed it in a way that port 0x800-0x8ff is not tested anymore.
(BTW it's not my solution, found it somewhere in the net and put it on
my site ;-)
I think it's a special DELL hardware problem. So hope this helps
