Re: Realtek8139 PC Card-NIC & standalone pcmcia_cs

Hi, folks,

I got the advice to install the standalone pcmcia_cs package
to get my CF-cards in a PCMCIA-adapter working. Surprisingly
it actually worked out. Now I'm having the problem, that I can't
get my Realtek8139-based PCMCIA-NIC working anymore.

After
kernel: cs: cb_alloc(bus 2): vendor 0x10ec, device 0x8139,
cardmgr issues the following message:

 unsupported card in socket 0
   no product info available
   PCI id: 0x10ec, 0x8139

My kernel version is 2.4.21 with the laptop-patches applied
and pcmcia_cs 3.2.4, in which there doesn't seem to be an
8139-module (anymore). Can anyone give me a hint on what
to do next?
valiho:~# lspci -n
03:00.0 Class 0200: 10ec:8139 (rev 10)

with all 2.4 kernels, this card works fine with in-kernel PCMCIA code, with yenta_socket and hotplug.
Module Size Used by Not tainted
8139too 15144 1
