Does anyone know how to manage the two patches in oder to get a new (working) one?

(Debian + ACPI -[?]-> new patch)

Thanks,
Jerome

Hello,
do the acpi patches from sourceforge work with kernel-source packages
from debian, or is it necessary to use kernel sources from kernel.org?

The kernel sources from Debian should be vanilla kernel.org sources, so
the acpi patches should apply straight up.

In fact the kernel source 2.4.20 from Debian was patched:
unfortunately the corresponding ACPI patch does not patch it.

Also, you may want to install the "kernel-package" package and use the
make-kpkg command to build a Debian package of the kernel for easier
installation and management.

I hope that helps,
