Also, try checking on the manufacturer's website for more inforamtion .
Dell happens to have a fairly well docuemntated website for things like
this.  According to the site, looks like the Latitude XP 4x series
laptops use the Western Digital 90C24A2 chipset.  Check this  link for
more information:
http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/dta/LATXP/00000001.htm#Video.  You may have
to select your laptop model from a pull down menu. 

I've never had success with 'Superprobe', and now I think I know why.
'XFree86 -configure' should work for you as well.

You may try `SuperProbe' but this seems only available for older
versions of X11 (I suppose X11 3.x, see Debian Potato). Or with newer
X11 4.x you may try `XFree86 -configure'.
