RE: Why is X-config not so easy as Knoppix ?
I found that XFree86 -configure wouldn't find my mouse. I would have to exit
and modify ~/XF86Config-new to put in the correct mouse then relaunch with
XFree86 -configure ~/XF86Config-new (I think, I cant remember) after that it
was nice and simple like the old XF86Setup

with XFree86 4.x you may try XFree86 -configure to get a working
configuration file for almost any machine. See the man page for details.
