It actually does. I don't know how, but it does. Before, when I was using
the kernel 2.2 it was hanging after power down, but now it powers off
without the acpid

Thanks a lot. I think I'll have to give up experiments as a couple of days
ago it crased badly twice, without doing anything, just running a c
program and X. I got rid of acpid and other things as they were the only
things I installed in a while, and yesterday it run all day fine, but I
don't know if acpid was the problem. It crashed once, while I was doing
nothing, after it started Xscreensaver and another time after I checked a
few things and I did init 1 to restart. wdm started, but the keyboard was
dead. The mous worked for a bit and it died as well and I couldn't do
anything but reseting. I@m still feeling sick about it: I use my laptop to
work, I can't break it!
