Is the scroller an actual button, or does is it more than just a button.
If its a button, like my ThinkPad, then I don't know of anyway to get it
to work, as you need some way to tie in the middle button with the
trackpoint (sorry, I've not seem a 2700T)

I've not tried it myself, but you might like to try imwheel, the man page
looks promising, but its too many late nights for me at the moment, so I
could be wrong.

Environments such as KDE and GNOME have there own things to do this (they
probably call xset to do them though)
