Toshiba Satellite Pro 4200, Debian 2.2.r3 and XFree86

Bonjour:

Since a while I have tried to configure XF86
with the XF86_SVGA server on a Toshiba laptop (Satellite Pro 4200):
according the the trace below
the XF86_SVGA recognize the chipset ("s3_savage")
but I get a Xscreen during a very short time with an ugly big mouse
before a scratching.

Any idea ?
Thanks in advance,
Jerome BENOIT
