Oh boy. M$ should get shot for this decision to abandon DOS boot ;-)
Check www.google.com for descriptions on how to get rid of this restriction
(e.g. "Windows millennium F8 DOS").
Somebody told me that you just have to edit an init config file
(most likely C:\MSDOS.SYS) in order to reactivate DOS boot support.
Stupid...

It's usually
<image> root=/dev/XXX
e.g.
Linux root=/dev/fd0

But I guess I'm wrong with this. Your problem is how to get the *USB* floppy
to work for booting it, right ?
I guess I don't have a single idea then...
