Depends on the shape of the house, really; some ports have only about 140 ft
range, and ones with better range are trading off with throughput.

There's also sbay.org here in the Silicon Valley area, although most of the
good stuff gets discussed over pizza, and most of the wireless we discuss
is WAN oriented.

Friends of mine have expressed getting good behavior using Apple Airports
with other SOHO level equipment such as Lucent PCMCIA cards.

Anyone using those Orinoco 2.4 Ghz miniPCIs yet?
