how do you mean that? i did a dmesg and just see the cards being loaded.

i don' get the syntax of that file. consulting "man interfaces" makes me do the
following:

#interface to outside
auto lo eth0
# this because it defaults to 10.0.0.111 anyway
#
#interface to inside
auto lo eth1
#
#and now configuring eth1:
iface eth1 inet static
adres 192.168.1.1
netmask 255.255.255.0

but it doesn't work:(

any hints?
