Re: installing debian2.2 on a ibm thinkpad760el
http://www.linux-laptop.net/ibm.html
yep, 1st place I looked. great resource. Ive read thru
all the listings for 760 models and got some idears
but nothing yet.
doh didnt think abt the cdrom not being able to read
a burnt cd. that xplains some things.
Ive tried floppy=thinkpad and mem=, hd= jic. on one of
the other models somehting was said abt using a custom
kernel for the bootfloppy. I havent tried that yet.
andre -- did your 760ed do the same thing when you
first tried booting from floppy?? maybe i need to try
that again. its possible i made a typo typing
"floppy=thinkpad"
I used a 2.5" to 3.5" ide connector to install debian
on the drive from my desktop. but on the thinkpad It
starts loadiing the kernel then shuts itself down. Im
kinda thinking and its been sugested that this prob
has something to do w/ apm but i havent really figured
a work around this way yet.
thanks
