| This card is a little quirky yet. I have the same card and it
| does this nearly everytime I bring it up. All I need to do is
|
| # ifconfig eth0 up
|
| and it starts working. Even though the interface already
| shows that it's up, I need to remind it manually to get it to
| work.

I've had success with setting the card in multicast mode, or even in
promisc on a bad day.

But it's funny, in my office I can get it to work if I follow the
prescription above (the DHCP server there is debian dhcp 2.0pl5-1), but
in my school I've had no success -- no matter what.

I don't know what kind of dhcp server that is running there -- possibly
something on RedHat or Novell, *and* I think they are using some sort of
DHCP relaying.

Does anyone know what I could do to get it to work?
