I've been using such a card for over a year now, without a problem,
under both slink and potato. I'm currently using potato's PCMCIA
Modules and Card utils/services (release 3.1.7-2), and the Xircom
  is recognized as a Xircom CEM56 Ethernet/Modem :

  Card manager says :

  cardmgr[]: socket 0: Xircom CEM56 Ethernet/Modem
  cardmgr[]: executing: 'insmod /lib/modules/2.2.13/pcmcia/xirc2ps_cs.o'
  cardmgr[]: executing: 'insmod /lib/modules/2.2.13/pcmcia/serial_cs.o'

and kernel (either at boot or card (re)insert) :

cs: IO port probe 0x1000-0x17ff: clean.
  cs: memory probe 0xa0000000-0xa0ffffff: clean.
  xirc2ps_cs.c 1.31 1998/12/09 19:32:55 (dd9jn+kvh)
  eth0: autonegotiation failed; using 10mbs
  eth0: MII selected
  eth0: media 10BaseT, silicon revision 5
  eth0: Xircom: port 0x300, irq 3, hwaddr 00:10:A4:xx:xx:xx
  tty03 at 0x02e8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A
  eth0: switching to 10BaseT port

Xircom RealPort is supported as written in the Supported Device List
  coming with pcmcia-cs package.

Have this card on a Sony VAIO F305 (Ricoh chipset) and had it up on a
Compaq Armada 1700 (TI chipset). It's a great multi PC card and I'm no
longer breaking any of these small connectors for RJ45/11 you have on
other PC Cards. DLink now also offers a multifunctionnal PC Card (Enet
+Modem) with RJxx connectors directly on the card. Dunno if it's as
easy to run as the Xircom card.

Happy New Year all of you
  BuG
