That might work, or might not... depending on whether the hibernation
partition needs a special format or not.

I have no idea what BIOS a Vaio uses, but if it has a Phoenix BIOS, 
try Patrick Ashmore's lphdisk (pronounced elf disk) -

Phdisk type hibernation volumes do need some partition details, just 
being of fdisk type a0 (thinkpad hibernate) isn't enough.

However - if it's one of those annoying types where the hibernate file
lives on a FAT filesystem - you can just copy a working hibernate file.
Make sure your fellow user has the same amount of memory though.
