RE: Maestro
Are you using the OSS drivers or the alsa drivers? I started with the OSS
drivers, and found that .au files sounded horrible too. The ALSA drivers
didn't work at all. I never actually tried anything other than .au files.
Perhaps I should :) I am currently battling getting my USB CDRW to work in
linux, so I've put away the sound problems for now.

What are you problems exactly ? I have one on a Siemens Scenic Mobile
360, and it's sound OK except for .au which sound horrible. And
saytime seems to be interrupted after a certain mount of time (1 or 2
seconds).
