That's because you're using "-type f". The symlink in the rc2.d
directory isn't a "f" (file). :)
Use :
find /etc -name "*nfs*" (optionally -type l since we know it's
a symlink)
It's probably rc2.d/K25nfs-server that you're looking for, but
use update-rc.d to make changes.
