It is good idea to do so.
If source is XML, I can make such thing easily but with SGML, I do not
know clean to such things.
Solution 1:
Use cpp MACRO to make SGMLs: 1 for English build and 1 for PO template.
Solution 2:
Use some bogus marker such as @@@no-translate-start@@@ and
@@@no-translate-end@@@ then change them to <!--- ---> if it is for PO
template, otherwise empty string with sed.
At this time of deep freeze, I am not implimenting such thing now any
more. Maybe next release... we will but then XML conversion may be good
idea. In order to keep this as wishlist bug, I am filing it so.
