Der Satz wird meiner Meinung nach erst dadurch unverständlich, indem man 
die Klammern weglässt, den Inhalt aber stehen lässt. Ohne Klammer und 
deren Inhalt:
B<fsync>() überträgt alle veränderten gepufferten Daten von der Datei, 
auf die der Dateideskriptor I<fd> weist, auf die Platte ...
(grammatisch ok, oder?)

In den Klammern steht die nähere Erläuterung, was mit »gepufferten 
Daten« gemeint ist. Aber das »von« werde ich hinter die Klammer verschieben.

Ja, das ist genauer, da dieses »zum Schreiben« lediglich auf ein 
Modifikationsattribut verweist.
