<p>
Le 19 mars, Cyril Brulebois, membre de l'<a
href="http://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/Team";>équipe du
programme d'installation de Debian</a>,
a annoncé la 
<a href="https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2014/03/msg00009.html";>parution de l'installateur Debian Jessie Alpha 1</a>, la première version alpha de l'installateur
pour Debian 8 <q>Jessie</q>.

Plusieurs améliorations ont été apportées parmi lesquels on peut mentionner
la correction d'un bogue du paquet apt-setup package et le fait que 
grub-installer prend maintenant en charge un menu pour sélectionner la
partition sur laquelle installer GRUB. En outre, Xfce est l'environnement
de bureau par défaut pour le moment, mais cela pourra faire l'objet d'une
réévaluation au mois d'août.

Pour ce qui est de la prise en charge matérielle, quelques architectures
ne sont plus prises en charge et il n'y aura pas d'installateur pour les
systèmes sparc du fait de l'échec de la construction du paquet pour cette
plate-forme. L'équipe en charge de la publication reconsidère l'intérêt de
conserver le portage de sparc comme un portage officiel. Le noyau Linux
a été mis à jour de la version 3.2 à la version 3.13 et le noyau
FreeBSD de la version 9.0 à la version 9.2.

Enfin, le message de Cyril appelle tous les membres et défenseurs de Debian
a aider au processus de publication à venir en trouvant et signalant les
bogues qui affectent le paquet. Les CD d'installation et tout ce dont vous
avez besoin pour les tests sont disponibles sur cette
<a href="http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer";>page web</a>. Les
autres moyens pour contacter l'équipe en charge de la publication sont la

Il faut remonter jusqu'en juillet 2011 pour trouver la date où le gouvernement
fédéral de l'Inde a décidé de lancer une nouvelle politique de technologie de
l'information et de la communication basée sur l'obligation d'utiliser des
systèmes d'exploitation libre plutôt que des logiciels propriétaires en
réaction à l'annonce de Microsoft de ne plus fournir de support pour
Windows XP à partir du 8 avril 2014.

Plus tard dans l'année, en novembre 2011, l'�tat fédéral du Tamil Nadu, situé
à l'extrémité méridionale du sous-continent Indien, a publié un décret, le
<a href="http://bosslinux.in/sites/default/files/BOSS-in-DIT.pdf";>décretgouvernemental nº15</a>,
pour lancer la distribution dérivée de Debian BOSS Linux (Bharat
Operating Systems Solutions) comme système d'exploitation obligatoire devant
être installé et utilisé les systèmes informatiques gouvernementaux et, en
particulier, ceux du Département des technologies de l'information. BOSS
Linux, développé par le Centre for Development of
Advanced Computing (C-DAC), prend en charge l'ensemble des langues indiennes,
les dispositifs bio-senseurs, les signatures électroniques et peut être
adapté pour les environnements locaux, comme le faisait remarquer le journal
indien 
<a href="http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/tamil-nadu/tn-state-departments-asked-to-switch-over-to-open-source-software/article5799039.ece";>The Hindu</a>
dans un récent article. En plus de l'économie provoquée par le passage à
BOSS Linux, c'est la réduction du risque d'infection virale et de piratage
informatique qui a mené le gouvernement indien à implanter le nouveau système
d'exploitation. Malgré le décret de novembre 2011, de nombreux organismes
gouvernementaux du Tamil Nadu ont continué à utiliser Windows XP, mais
l'annonce récente de Microsoft indiquant que la prise en charge ne
serait plus assurée après le 8 avril, a poussé le gouvernement du Tamil Nadu
a recommandé à ses services d'installer obligatoirement BOSS Linux sur toutes
leurs machines en publiant un nouveau décret il y a quelques semaines.

<p>
Sylvestre Ledru a publié
<a href="http://sylvestre.ledru.info/blog/2014/03/21/rebuild-of-debian-using-clang";>sur son blog</a>
le résultat d'une reconstruction complète de l'archive Debian avec Clang 3.4
qu'il a entreprise avec David Suárez.
Actuellement, 2193 paquets de l'archive échouent à la construction à partir
de la source. Bien que ce soit à peu près le même nombre d'échecs de
construction qu'avec Clang 3.3 il y a plus d'un an,
c'est une bonne nouvelle parce que le nombre de paquets dans l'archive a cru
(ce qui signifie que le pourcentage d'échec décroit) et Clang 3.4 effectue
plus de vérifications et de détections d'erreurs.

Résultats et statistiques sont disponibles sur un
<a href="http://clang.debian.net/";>site dédié</a>.

<p>
Le
<a href="http://beagleboard.org/Products/BeagleBone%20Black";>BeagleBone Black</a>
est une plate-forme de développement, soutenue par la communauté, combinant
la puissance d'une carte de développement ARM avec le potentiel, pour les
amateurs de manipulation, de deux microcontrolleurs 32-bits.

Dans <a href="http://opensource.com/life/14/3/interview-jason-kridner-beagleboard";>une interview</a>,
Jason Kridner, le cofondateur de <a href="http://beagleboard.org";>BeagleBoard.org</a>
a indiqué que le système d'exploitation par défaut de ces cartes BeagleBone
Black, comme celui des autres cartes de BeagleBoard.org, allait être changé

<p>
On March 19, Cyril Brulebois, member of the <a
href="http://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/Team";>Debian Installer team</a>,
announced
<a href="https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2014/03/msg00009.html";>Debian
Installer Jessie Alpha 1 release</a>, the first alpha release of the installer
for Debian 8 <q>Jessie</q>.

Several improvements have been introduced among which are to be mentioned a bug
fixed in the apt-setup package and the fact that the grub-installer now
supports menu selection of GRUB boot disk. Moreover, the default desktop
environment, as for the time being, is XFCE, but this may be the object of
further re-evaluation taking place in August.

As far as hardware support changes concern, a few architectures are not
supported anymore and there will be no installer support for sparc systems due
to the failure to build the package for that platform.
The team is reconsidering the convenience of retaining sparc as an official port.
The Linux kernel has been updated from 3.2 to 3.13 and the FreeBSD kernel from
9.0 to 9.2.

Finally, Cyril's message calls on all Debian members and supporters
to help the further release process by finding and submitting bugs against the
package. Installer CDs and all resources needed for testing it are available on
the <a href="http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer";>web page</a>.  Other
ways of contacting the release team are the <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/";>Debian-boot mailing list</a> and
the #debian-boot irc channel on irc.debian.org.

<toc-add-entry name="tamil_nadu_boss">Indian federal state of Tamil Nadu adopts Debian derivative BOSS GNU/Linux as official OS</toc-add-entry>

<p>
It was as far back as July 2011 when the federal government of India decided to
launch a new ICT policy based on the mandatory usage of open source operating
systems rather than proprietary software as a reaction to Microsoft's
announcement to no longer provide support for Windows XP after April 8, 2014.

Later that year, in November 2011, the federate state of Tamil Nadu, located in
the very south of the Indian subcontinent, released the order
<a href="http://bosslinux.in/sites/default/files/BOSS-in-DIT.pdf";>Government Order
No. 15</a> to introduce the Debian derivative BOSS (Bharat Operating Systems
Solutions) Linux as a mandatory operating system to be installed and used on
all governmental computer systems, particularly on those of the Departement of
Information Technology. BOSS Linux, developed by the Centre for Development of
Advanced Computing (C-DAC), supports all Indian languages, bio-sensing
devices, digital signatures and can be customised for local environments, as
the Indian newspaper
<a href="http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/tamil-nadu/tn-state-departments-asked-to-switch-over-to-open-source-software/article5799039.ece";>The Hindu</a>
points out in a recent article. Beside the cost saving effects of switching to
BOSS Linux, it was the reduced risk of being infected by viruses or affected by
hacking or phishing attacks that led the Indian Government to the
implementation of the new operating system. Despite the order issued in
November 2011 many Tamil Nadu governmental offices had continued using Windows
XP, but the recent announcement of Microsoft stating that support would not be
discontinued beyond April 8 made the Tamil Nadu government advise its
departments to install BOSS Linux mandatorily on all their systems issuing
another order some weeks ago.

<toc-add-entry name="clang">Rebuild of the Debian archive with Clang</toc-add-entry>

<p>
Sylvestre Ledru published
<a href="http://sylvestre.ledru.info/blog/2014/03/21/rebuild-of-debian-using-clang";>on his blog</a>
the result of a complete rebuild of the Debian archive with Clang 3.4
he ran together with David Suárez.
Currently, 2193 packages in the archive are failing to build from source.
Although this is about the same number of failing builds with Clang 3.3
more than a year ago,
it is good news because the number of packages in the archive increased
(meaning that the percentage of failures decreased) and Clang 3.4 has
more checks and error detections.

<p>
The
<a href="http://beagleboard.org/Products/BeagleBone%20Black";>BeagleBone Black</a>
is a community-supported development platform combining the
power of an ARM development board with the hobby potential of two 32-bit
microcontrollers.

In <a href="http://opensource.com/life/14/3/interview-jason-kridner-beagleboard";>an interview</a>,
Jason Kridner, co-founder of <a href="http://beagleboard.org";>BeagleBoard.org</a>
indicates that the default operating system on those BeagleBone Black boards, as well as for other
BeagleBoard.org boards, is being shifted to 
<a href="http://beagleboard.org/latest-images/";>Debian</a>.
