The rule is nice and simple*: it's always "an" before a vowel, "a"
elsewhere, so the above text is just wrong: it has to be "a screen
session".
*) There's a trick, of course: it's vowel SOUND, not vowel LETTER, so
it's "an hour", "a unit". But that's not relevant in this case.
