the SMB protocol, and can give cross-platform access to network
shares from Windows and Unix-like systems (including Mac OS X and
 Linux).
 .
This package provides utilities for managing mounts of CIFS network
 file systems.
 .
These programs were originally part of Samba (distributed in the
"smbfs" package), but have now been split off into a separate package.
