Re: Debconf rewrite project: review the intent.txt mail

(2nd version, *with* attached file)

Please find attached to this mail the first mail that will be used in
the process.

This mail is the mail mentioned in Step 1 (notify the package
maintainer) of the debconf rewrite process.

Please comment and, as usual, correct my own English. Unified diff
files will be appreciated.

Bracketed strings are intended to be replaced by the scripts we will
provide in the rewrite toolkit.

Dear Debian maintainer,

The Debian internationalisation team and the Debian English
"localisation" team will soon begin the review of the debconf
templates you use in <PACKAGE>.

That process is run for all packages that use debconf to interact with
users and its main purposes are:
- improve the use English in all debconf templates;
- enhance the consistency of the debconf templates wording;
- bring more translations for the templates.

Even if you are a native English speaker, that process is likely to
help tracking down typos or errors, but also bring consistency between
the debconf templates of your package and that of others packages in
the distribution.

The process involves both debian-l10n-english contributors and
Debian translators.

The details of the process are given in <insert URL here>.

I will act as the coordinator of this action for <PACKAGE>.

The first step of this process is to review the debconf source
templates file(s) of <PACKAGE>. This review will start on <DAY07> or
as soon as you acknowledge this mail with an agreement for us to
conduct this process..

All actions will be done in close interaction with you and no upload
of <PACKAGE> will happen without coordination with you.

Please ACK this mail. If some work in progress on your side would
conflict with such a rewrite (like adding or removing debconf
templates), please say so and this action will be delayed to a later
moment in the development cycle.
